Our goal is to preserve the Chicago & North Western depot by replacing the existing siding and windows.
The 114 year oldChicago & North Western Depot is a rare "Combination Station with Living Quarers Overhead" style. The depot still has its original siding and windows. The siding is old and rotted and will no longer hold paint. Many of the 26 windows can no longer be repaired and cannot be opened due to their deteriorated condition. The original structure of the building is sound.
The depot is a historical building. Inside are displays of artifacts, pictures, written materials and tools of the trade of the pioneers who settled and lived in Midland SD and the surrounding area.
Your donation will help ensure that future generations can see and enjoy the history of this area. Please share this page. We appreciate your support.
