#GivingTuesdayNow is a global day of giving and unity that will take place on May 5, 2020 as an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19. Support the lifesaving work of the Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA. In 2019, the SPCA took in over 4,000 pets and had a live-release-rate of 97%.
While health and wellbeing are our top priorities, we must also consider the financial implications of the virus on our organization. We’re experiencing a significant drop in income from temporarily closing the SPCA Rummage Store, decreasing the majority of public clinic services and canceling classes at the shelter. We have been forced to cancel all off-site fundraisers, and we have switched the 7thAnnual bow-WOW-walk to a virtual event. As an organization that depends on your generosity to feed and care for thousands of animals, we’re deeply worried about how this loss of revenue will affect the animals who depend on us.
The Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA is not affiliated with any national animal welfare organizations and receives no ongoing funding from the ASPCA or the Humane Society of the United States. Your gift to the SPCA goes directly to our organization.
