Last year, I participated in a Midnight Run. At some point early on in the night, we ran out of coats. That's when I realized we weren't doing enough. Inspired by the notion of doing more, I created this drive to raise money to buy coats that transform into sleeping bags. Notably, these coats are made by an innovative company in Michigan that employs and trains homeless women. Over the next few months, and thanks to your very generous donations and moral support, I collected enough money to purchase nearly 60 coats (my goal was 50)! In January of last year, my family and I traveled to a New York City soup kitchen and personally distributed the jackets to people who were incredibly happy to receive them.
But... it's still cold and there are still many more people out there without the means to keep warm in the coming months. And so, I'm doing this again and need your help. Each coat costs $100. All donations are 100% tax deductible. I would like to find a way to keep our cold New Yorkers a little warmer. Any amount you can contribute towards this cause is appreciated.
Thank you so much and wherever you are, I hope you are warm.
