In 2017 my husband, Ted, was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Just ten months later, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I’m so thankful that Ted’s doing really well, and is continuing to receive chemotherapy in Des Moines. I’m also thankful for my last breast cancer surgery on June 12th. I wanted to do something significant to celebrate Ted’s progress and my “cancer-free” status, so I will be running in the Capital Pursuit race on Sunday, and then the Des Moines Half Marathon on October 20th. I'm also running in memory of a very special young man, Charlie Cutler.
Charlie's adventurous spirit and optimistic attitude, are what's inspiring me to run these races. Therefore, I thought these events would be a perfect opportunity to raise awareness of the Charlie Cutler Endowment program.
This program provides therapeutic treatments like aromatherapy, massage, guided imagery, and more. Ted and I know first-hand what a tremendous difference these treatments can make in the midst of a cancer journey. If you’re fortunate enough NOT to be in the hospital today or fighting your own cancer, I want to ask you to join me in making a donation to provide these treatments for those who are. $10, $20 or hundreds – whatever you’re able and willing to contribute will go directly to providing these therapies to cancer patients.
In this video, hear from Charlie and learn about this healing and wellness program. Give YOURSELF a gift, by watching it.
Also, this blog I wrote about Charlie last year, will help you to know this amazing young man: https://www.wlministries.com/2018/09/01/a-life-that-could-impact-your-own-charlie-cutler/
