Charlie “Chuck” Copeland was an incredible father, husband and grandpa who lost his battle to cancer on Mar 19, 2021. He was initially diagnosed with CLL in 2015 and while we thought he may have won his battle against this awful disease, we discovered lumps on his neck in 2020. The prognosis was not good...he had Richter's Transformation, an extremely aggressive and rare form of lymphoma. Most patients only live 5-8 months, but my Dad fought hard for 10 months. He was strong, resilient and tried so hard to fight by undergoing numerous chemotherapy and radiation treatments until his body couldn’t take it anymore. On Feb 27, 2021 he was admitted to the hospital and never came home. We sat with him bedside and watched him take his final breath, changing our lives forever.
Our hearts are broken and words can't describe the pain our family has gone through the past few years. However, our journey doesn't stop here with the passing of my amazing father. Hundreds of thousands of people succumb to cancer each year and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is at the forefront of the fight to cure cancer.
In memory of my Dad or a loved one you may have lost, please donate as much as you can to LLS. We promised him we would do everything we could to carry on his legacy and continue his battle. With donations like yours, LLS will continue to fund research and finally kick cancer's ass.
