It’s that time of year! Time to celebrate Charlie Cooper Cal, his Uncle Andy, and all who rock their 47 chromosomes. Charlie is seven years old, likes swimming, begs for ice cream, and loves Woody and the whole Toy Story crew. He has made great gains in speech, motor, and other developmental areas. He loved kindergarten, and we can’t wait to see his continued growth in 1st grade. We are so fortunate for all of the supportive friends, family, school teams, therapists, and medical professionals who have helped us all with expertise, patience, love, and humor.
The Down Syndrome Association of Minnesota is a statewide nonprofit organization with the mission to empower individuals and their families, to create community, and to celebrate the abilities of people with Down syndrome. Our Annual STEP UP FOR DOWN SYNDROME walk is our largest awareness event and fundraiser. Over 5,000 people join us in person at Como Park every September to raise awareness, celebrate abilities, and create community.
The money raised through the personal campaigns of our AWESOME TEAM CAPTAINS & FAMILIES leading up to this event provide the funding to deliver our mission and programming throughout the year!
