It's September, and that means we are ready to Step Up for Down syndrome and for Charlie Cooper Cal, his uncle Andy, and all their friends and family. Next Sunday, September 23rd we will walk to raise funds to support programs and resources for those with Ds and their families. Money raised will send out welcome packets (with Charlie's picture) to new families, fund speakers and webinars to give valuable medical, social, behavioral, developmental, and transitional information for families, help keep the family resource library up to date with the latest Ds related materials, support conferences for those with Down syndrome, their families, and educators, and make special events possible-like the "I Can Shine" week long bike camp. This camp was an amazing week run by experts and volunteers, where 80% of the campers were able to ride a two wheel bike by the time they left!
We would appreciate your donation of any amount to support the programs and resources of the Down Syndrome Association of MN and to honor Charlie Cooper Cal. Charlie is 6 years old, is a big and little brother, and is rockin' his first weeks of kindergarten. We are all so excited to watch him thrive at school; to see all that he learns and teaches.
