Women veterans are the fastest-growing demographic of homeless veterans in America today. In 2015, after separating from active duty Army, I found myself extremely close to being one of those statistics. Despite having a college education and valuable work experience, I was reentering a civilian job market that was flooded with experienced and educated veterans. On top of that, I was escaping an unhealthy marriage and was responsible for two young children. I returned home to Texas and relied heavily on veteran service organizations and family for help to get back on my feet. Thanks to grants and funding from local groups, I managed to establish a successful career in cybersecurity, and I just purchased my first home! I have been in their shoes, and I know how difficult it is to establish a life outside of the military, especially with dependents. I want nothing more than to take women veterans and their children OFF OF THE STREETS. They served and deserve to be safe and healthy, not homeless. I NEED YOUR HELP to make this happen. Please consider donating to this cause. All donations help homeless women veterans.
