This year we will host a virtual Martin Luther King Jr. Day Conference, "To Seek Justice," on January 17-18, 2021, which will celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. King and the 20th Anniversary of the MLKCommUNITY Breakfast. We invite everyone to go to our website, www.mlkcommunity.org, and register to attend.
Hunger is even more prevalent this year due to the pandemic and resulting loss of jobs, income, housing and lingering racial inequities. The Food Cupboards have not been able to accept food donations since last March due to lack of room to safely social distance and process food donations.
Thus, we are not collecting food items this year but are asking for online donations of any amount so that the Cupboards can provide grants to needy families for food, housing, and emergency assistance.
It is our mission, in honor of Dr. King, to create a beloved community in Greater Southern Chester County that provides opportunities for fellowship, service, justice and the eradication of poverty. Feeding the hungry is paramount in the Beloved Community.
All online donations here and coins collected at Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union in Kennett Square will be paid to the Kennett Food Cupboard or Avon Grove Bridge Food Pantry (your preference) to feed hungry people in southern Chester County, Pennsylvania.
Please, be as generous as you can!
