Update 4/22/19: Champ has had surgery and is doing great!! Please check out our Facebook page for a video of him getting around! Thank you to those that have donated so far--we've raised $195 of the $2238 that we're trying to get to to cover Champ's expenses! Please consider a donation of any amount to help us get there! Thank you!
In December 2018, Champ was attacked by another dog when he was just 3-4 weeks old. He was found hiding underneath a house with his leg partially torn off. He was hospitalized and the wound became infected which required surgery to have the stump cleaned and closed up. Just a couple of weeks later, he came down with parvo and nearly died. Little Champ had to remain hospitalized for another 30 days. Champ was finally able to be transported to Lincoln in February and he's been with an awesome foster family. We even managed to get Champ in for a stunning professional portrait done by Cherished Images by Beverly shortly after he arrived--it shows how much he has grown since his time in the hospital in Oklahoma. Since Champ has been in Nebraska, he has been trying to use his rear leg, but it is causing him to be off balance so the decision made with our veterinarian is to go ahead and do an amputation of his rear leg at the hip joint. Please consider a donation to help us cover the expenses involved with Champ's care! He such a survivor!
