The Center for Democracy and Technology fights to protect your civil liberties through our work in privacy and data security, as well as free expression online, security and surveillance, open internet, and internet architecture. One of the very relevant ways we are doing this is through our election security project - which will only become more important as the 2018 elections approach and 2020 efforts gear up.
Our work secures the foundations of democracy.
More political activity continues to touch the digital realm. Data-driven campaigns and computerized election infrastructure have raised serious concerns regarding election privacy and security.
We must equip election administrators with tools to better protect voting systems before, during, and after a cyberattack.
* We're developing best practices for modernizing voter registration system cybersecurity and providing election officials with guidance on cybersecurity.
* We're conducting outreach and creating accessible materials for election officials at all levels of government to help them improve their ability to audit their elections.
* We're identifying ways to increase local government cybersecurity capacity by building bridges with local information security communities.
This work is vital to fortifying democracy not just in the US, but worldwide. Your support is essential.
