As a pediatric ER nurse, I’ve seen diabetes at its worst. From newly diagnosed patients with family members that have no idea how much this disease will impact their kiddo’s day... every single day... for the rest of their life; to the patients that I care for that have the exteme high or low blood sugars that present with neurological compromise and require a stay in the intensive care unit. I am honored to be a part of the larger picture and collaborate with Team Cellmates on the Run and the Chicago Diabetes Project to OUTRUN diabetes. I would love nothing more than to one day be able to tell my patient and their family when they receive the diabetes diagnosis that it is a real and scary disease but there is a CURE!!! Please help, as you’re able, to raise funds for research that will provide a cure one day.

Cellmates on the Run is the official running team of the Chicago Diabetes Project (CDP) that brings individuals together to achieve a common goal: cure diabetes. When you support the CDP you’ll be raising money to advance diabetes research and a functional cure through islet cell transplants. Together, every mile brings us closer to a functional cure for diabetes. To date we have raised over $1 million to fund life-changing diabetes research. With your help, we’ll be 26.2 miles closer to a cure.
