The Colorado Conservatory of Dance (CCD) has been a special and beautiful part of my life since I was 6-years old. CCD has introduced me to my greatest mentors and closest friends and has provided me with a truly kind and caring community that has inspired me to be both a better artist and a better person. I am proud to be part of such an extraordinary organization that provides the beauty of dance as well as the kindness essential to society.
This fall marks the start of my 5th year dancing in the CCD Studio Company; two of which I have been a Studio Company Representative (an elected student leader in the company). I was promoted to the Pre-Professional Program in January 2020. In August, I was invited to become an Apprentice Faculty Member and I am now teaching dancers the age of when I started at the Conservatory, 5 to 7-years old. My journey has come full circle.
I have enjoyed many incredible opportunities at CCD including performing several lead roles: Madeline in Madeline Stands Tall, the Lilac Fairy in Aurora’s Wedding, and the Duck in Peter and the Wolf. This will be my 7th year dancing in CCD's annual Nutcracker production. Recent roles include Snow, Lead Flower, Grandmother and Mirliton. This year, for our streamed production, “Nutcracker Sweet,” I will be performing the roles of Rat King, Arabian and Flower .
At CCD, I have attended the Advanced Summer Dance Intensive the last five years. I have performed in the annual Summer Moving Project and created original work for the Young Choreographer’s Showcase for 4 years. This past summer, I was accepted into CCD’s Movement Lab and worked with numerous world-renowned choreographers, as well as created work and films of my own.
The Colorado Conservatory of Dance has persevered and continued classes, rehearsals, and summer programs while following strict COVID-19 health guidelines and protocols. Performances have continued via livestreams.
Even with our success as a nonprofit organization going up against the pandemic, we need your help! In order to continue bringing the arts to the world, we need your generous donations to keep the conservatory doors open. The organization has pushed through the past 6 months, but it has not been an easy task.
With the COVID-19 pandemic, the arts have been hit hard and many organizations have been permanently shut down due to financial strain.
Thank you for your generosity and contributions to keep the arts alive and continue making lives better through dance. CCD is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
