I have been studying dance for thirteen years and am now dancing my ninth year at the Colorado Conservatory of Dance, “CCD”. I attend dance classes 6 days a week (29hrs!) where I am dedicated to improving my ballet, pointe, jazz, modern, contemporary, Pas de Deux, pedagogy, and choreography skills.
In addition to offering amazing dance training, CCD does a lot of great work for the community. For every dance student at CCD, CCD brings dance to over 100 children in schools throughout the Denver/Boulder metro area, many in underserved populations in Title 1 institutions. CCD’s educational programming - Move-to-Learn partnerships, free after-school ballet classes and our renowned anti-bullying ballet touring production - will reach over 21,000 children this year alone.
As part of the Studio Company at CCD, I take time off from school several days each semester to perform in the anti-bulling ballet production. This year we are performing a modern version of “The Ugly Duckling,” and I am excited to have the roles of the Cat and a Swan. Every year, I am touched by the warm reception we receive from the elementary
students at each school!
Right now we are preparing our beautiful, production of The Nutcracker. This year, I will perform as the Lead Chinese, Spanish, Snow, and Flower, and be an understudy for the Dew Drop role. The Nutcrackerruns December 14-15 & 21-22 at Pinnacle Performing Arts Center in north Denver.
Our performance for audience members with sensory needs happens on December 20.
Tickets are available at ccdance.org/performances.
I would love to dance for you!
I love dancing at CCD and being a part of their community efforts. As a cast member, I help to raise funds to assist with the wonderful programs of this nonprofit organization. Your generosity allows CCD to impact thousands of young people and their families, to introduce them to the wonder of dance, and to welcome them into our artistic family. Thanks for reading, and any donation is very appreciated!
