Cathleen is an 11 year old who thrives on social interaction and greets you with a smile. She enjoys riding on her trike, swimming, music, and art projects. Cathleen’s diagnosis of a CACNA1E gene variation affects her ability to control her movements, requiring the use of a wheelchair and full assistance, is severely developmentally delayed and uses a speech device for communication. Despite these challenges, Cathleen is challenging herself to a 2019 summer hiking series of county parks and is a key player on the Lions team as part of the East Metro Miracle Baseball League, additionally, Cathleen reaches new heights during her ‘out of the chair’ class at Circus Juventus in St. Paul. Cathleen is excited to be part of Team Triumph to experience running a 5K and take part the Twin Cities Marathon weekend on October 5.
