Awww catfish. Throw up your hands and use it as an expletive - it’s family friendly. Awww catfish. You guessed it friends - despite our greatest hopes and wishes that the Catfish River Music Festival could still take place in 2020, it just wasn’t meant to be. The 7th Annual Catfish River Music Festival will now take place 4th of July weekend 2021 - mark your calendars! Awww catfish.
What do we hope is your takeaway from this sad news? Know that we aren’t giving up - not on the Opera House, not on music, not on our wonderful community, and not for one minute on the idea that cats and fish can live in harmony as part of one music festival experience.
We planned the first Catfish back in 2014 with a basic formula: balloons, sunshine, families, and music. It has taken a huge amount of work from our volunteers and supporters to keep the festival going each year and we hope you are enjoying what Catfish has become.
Each year we have had to make the argument that the festival must remain free…charging admission has never seemed in keeping with the spirit of the event to me. Thankfully you have been generous with the donation buckets - dropping in whatever you can afford - and that has made for a great inclusive music experience.
The Stoughton Opera House Friends Association are the folks behind the whole thing and in order to make sure our 7th Annual festival happens and that we keep the festival free please consider dropping something in the virtual bucket right now (click on the donate button). $5 - $10 - $20…all the way up to $1million. Every little bit will help keep the heart of the Opera House beating for one more year.
