Hey Guys!! Well I'm at it again, in full training mode!!!
This year, in support of Climbing for ROMP, I will attempt a summit of Mt. Rainier the last weekend in July, and will continue to raise awareness for the this wonderful organization through Moving for ROMP by running the Grand Traverse, a 40 mile trail race with over 6000’ of elevation gain from Crested Butte to Aspen on September 1st! Please help raise money and awareness for this organization, and help motivate me to train for and complete my summit and race attempts!
If you don't know anything about The Range Of Motion Project (ROMP), please check them out at www.rompglobal.org , on facebook or Instagram for awesome videos and photos of their impact on some amazing people and communities. Briefly, they help provide prosthetics and prosthesis services, primarily in Ecuador and Guatemala, as well as in Mexico, Denver, and Chicago. Life is so much about mobility, especially in countries where there are not always wheelchair accessible bathrooms, ramps instead of stairs, or even paved roads. Additonally for individuals who's work requires walking (i.e. almost everyone) it can be impossible to work and provide for oneself or one's family. By providing access to prosthetics, ROMP has a literal life changing impact on people, as well as contributing to making more productive communities where wheel chair dependent people are given mobility. What would you do if you lost the ability to walk? To work? To run? To hike? Bike? Play golf? Play tennis? I take part in Moving for ROMP by using my abilities to allow others to play, run, jump, and work. I move, so they can too.
