Having dealt with anxiety and depression in the past, and having watched close friends and family members struggle with similar issues, the idea of transparency and conversation around mental health has a tender spot in my heart.
One of the most amazing lessons in life that I've learned while pressing into understanding the love and grace of God, is the amazing power of people.
Depression often gets burried behind guilt, anxiety, addiction, anger, isolation, etc. But the people around us have to ability to change that. Be transparent, be a good listener, ask real questions. Conversations about what we are dealing with have the amazing ability to release and empower, to ground our thoughts to real truths.
Consider having a conversation with someone today, and remind them that THEY REALLY DO MATTER!
