The Cleveland County Historical Society is thrilled to announce the start of a restoration project for the Moore-Lindsay Historic House! The historic house originally featured pieces of "carpenter's lace" in three of the doorways of the house. In the hopes of restoring these original features of the historic house, CCHS reached out to the Central Oklahoma Woodturners Association (COWA). COWA members will be volunteering their time to recreate these stunning fretwork pieces over the next two years. Community donations are requested to cover the costs of supplies, finishing work, installation, and other associated expenses. This exciting historical restoration needs your support!
The Moore-Lindsay House is a small museum with an annual budget of less than $40k a year, and we cannot complete this project without your donations. We are also asking for your support because we want members of our community to feel like they are a part of the museum team, just as the museum is a part of the community.
