With your help we are getting close to replacing the kennel roof. But the ever-increasing cost of permits and regulations have eaten into the money raised last year.
We are ready to get started, but need $20K more to build the roofs in order to protect the dogs against the strong winds and rain.
Thanks to the generosity of our Ventura County supporters, the Canine Adoption and Rescue League (CARL as we are known) has provided thousands of homeless and at-risk dogs food, shelter, life saving vet care, and loving forever homes for the last 22 years.
Founded in 1996, CARL has helped dogs, who've been relinquished, abandoned, and often abused. Many of our rescues are from the Ventura County Animal Shelter (VCAS). Supporting VCAS helps them maintain their "NO KILL" designation.
CARL relies completely on donations and does not receive any government, state or city funding; it operates almost entirely via volunteers. We are appealing to community members to support our efforts in order to continue the great work we are doing.
