The Pregnancy Resource Center (PRC) of Athens County is a non-profit organization that has been caring for our community since 2003. We provide compassionate and confidential education, resources and medical services to individuals and families making decisions regarding relationships, sexual health, pregnancy and parenting.
Our core services include STI testing and treatment, parenting education, infant & maternity supplies, pregnancy tests, pregnancy options information, and ultrasounds. All services, with the exception of low-cost lab fees for STI testing, are completely free of charge.
Just prior to the pandemic, the PRC invested in new technology to expand our services, including a new electronic health record system for our STI testing & treatment program. This proved providential as it will help us to continue offering our services via telehealth during this time of COVID-19. However, costs are a concern and our ability to fundraise to cover the additional cost has been limited by the stay-at-home order.
We invite you to join with us in our mission by donating today to help us continue our operations and support families and individuals in our community. And thanks to #SmallBusinessRelief we are eligible for a $500 match grant!
"[The provider] was so kind & helpful to me. She not only treated the condition, but she treated me as a person."
"Very informational and always helpful in every aspect of life, not just medical services." The PRC strives to meet the holistic needs of the individuals and families that we serve. With education and encouragement we equip and empower our clients to make healthy choices in line with their goals regarding relationships, sexual health, pregnancy and parenting.
“Being a college student that is with child was a difficult experience, but thanks to the PRC, I felt supported through every step.”
This young woman’s journey began with a pregnancy test at the Center. On the day of her last visit before returning to her hometown to have the baby, she cried with gratitude. Being able to prepare for birth and parenting with knowledge and the baby items she received in our program made her choice a beautiful reality.
Because of the PRC, they knew what to do.
“The hospital staff told us that we may have lost her if we had delayed.” This is what a father who went through our pregnancy and parenting education program shared with us after the birth of his daughter. The couple quickly recognized a sign of distress in their newborn and knew what to do because of what they learned in one of our educational sessions.
