Here is a link to an article that shares my journey of grieving and healing from Cari’s death.
The backstory: Cari Widmyer died tragically at the tender age of 43. Shortly after her death, I had a vivid dream. Cari appeared to me and asked me to fulfill 2 wishes:
1-Cari wanted me to always remain in touch with her family. They are so lovely and loving--that has been easy.
2-Cari wanted to me to run two grief support groups. She said that people on earth do not know how to let go, and it creates enormous suffering. Cari told me that through my training as a psychotherapist and my own life experiences, I have learned the art of letting go, and she wanted me to teach others. She said that I must fundraise so that participants could receive the group at no cost. A gift from Cari.
It has been almost 4 years since I had this dream, and a few weeks ago, I heard Cari’s voice say,” Yael, the time is now.” Cari is right! People are experiencing grief on so many levels right now, be it from actual death, financial death, or death of life as we know it. Anyone who knew Cari knows that she was very talented, competent, and specific… and so I am following her wishes to a T!
