Opening Doors and Changing lives!
As an organization, we have been through tough times before — earthquakes, the great recession and more. Because of these experiences and two of our core values : "We find a way, period!" and "commitment to YOU" we are going to quickly pivot and meet the new needs of those we serve under the circumstances caused by the corona virus. We are working 24/7 to find the best ways we can open doors and support our communities and clients while doing our work safely and effectively. This is the time that we stand up to count and not give in to fear while we continue to serve our clients so each of them can receive the help they need.
What are we doing to help?
We are changing our services to support families and individuals helping themselves and their community through essential business jobs, temp jobs and access to social networks and resources where they live. Each person/family is connected to local community resources and emergency programs that will provide stability, employment and resources through this uncertain period of time.To that end we are leveraging community resources to provide basic needs supports such as food, childcare, healthcare, transportation and access to financial aid resources in the local communities we live and work in.
How can you help?
Give today to Cares of Washington to ensure we are able to meet the fast growing support needs of the people we serve!
As the Seattle area is one of the hardest hit parts of the country, there are many people we support that have already lost their job, they are unaware of or unable to access resources, their kids cannot go to school or they have the corona virus which is driving them backwards towards poverty. Each of them want to and can get through this pandemic with your help!
Cares role is to serve as a positive and catalyzing force for these individuals and families, so they will perserver.
