We believe that when #WomenThrive, our world thrives. That is why, between now and Mother’s Day (May 12), the IRC in Northern California is challenging us to raise $25,000 to help change the future for refugee women and girls. Women and girls in crisis face violence, discrimination, and a lack of opportunities that rob them of their full potential. But, with your support, they can change their futures.
The IRC in San Jose's goal for #WomenThrive is $5,000 for women in our CareerLink program!
In San Jose, the IRC is working to provide career training to empower women to achieve higher wage, higher skilled jobs, leading to long-term self-sufficiency and long-term career success. To do this, the IRC helps fund women to go through training in the fields of tech, finance, healthcare, and hospitality, allowing them to access the training they need to compete in the Bay Area's dynamic workforce. To date, the IRC in San Jose has enrolled 40 women to enter the CareerLink program, leading to a 35% average increase in wages.
Your donation will directly support women in our CareerLink program in addition to other economic empowerment services which promote job readiness and financial literacy to navigate life in Northern California.
