Saturday, July 28th will be the 11th annual Cape Cod Bay Challenge, a 22 mile marathon standup paddle to help support Christopher's Haven in Boston. About 25 standup paddle boarders will launch from Scusett Beach in Sagamore at 8:00 am and land in Duxbury in the afternoon. A journey of 8-10 hours after months of training. This will be my 9th CCBC and this year is very special because I will be joined by my teammate and fiance Kim. Kim had been training for the event but unfortunately injured her back and will not be able to paddle. However she is stepping up and will captain our boat the Alabama Slamma as this year there was a shortage of support boats.
Christopher's Haven was founded in 2001 to help children with cancer. It provides comfortable housing and a supportive community for children receiving cancer treatment in Boston. Children come from all over the country to receive multidisciplinary care that includes surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy. These daily outpatient treatments can last up to six to eight weeks. Christopher's Haven allows parents to focus on their child's treatment and recovery. Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. Many thanks for your support--and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too! The following is a great link about what the CCBC does for Christopher's Haven. www.youtube.com/watch?v=I-A5w-F5yig
Thank you very much,
