We do the Cape Cod Bay Challenge to raise money to provide housing at Christopher's Haven for families with children who are being treated for cancer at the Massachusetts General Hospital and other area hospitals. Christopher's Haven -- "a home for kids when cancer hits home" -- is a group of apartments within walking distance of MGH that offers affordable housing and a support network for families that need to travel to Boston for their children's cancer treatment. This year's 22-mile paddle, on July 28, 2018, from Scusset Beach to Duxbury, will be my tenth CCBC paddle -- I do this paddle because when I was being treated at MGH for cancer I realized how lucky I was to be able to walk from my home to receive the world-class treatment that MGH offers without having to worry about traveling to another city or finding a place to live. Through the CCBC, we support Christopher's Haven in its effort to provide housing to families who are coming to MGH from outside Boston and who would otherwise not have a place to stay during their child's cancer treatment.
Please join us on July 28th at Duxbury Beach Park to cheer us to the finish line and enjoy the after-party at Blakeman's! Tickets for the after party can be purchased here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/2018-cape-cod-bay-challenge-registration-45418681499
