Support A Child To Read
Cape Coast is a major hub for secondary education in Ghana, and has produced a number of successful people in both the public and private sectors of Ghana. Over the past number of years we have noticed the decline in the performance of the elementary schools in Cape Coast. This has resulted in historically low admission of the natives of Cape Coast to the storied high schools in Cape Coast. The Oguaa Akoto association will like to take steps to address the downward trend.
The Funds will be used to: ·
1. To complete deployment of portable libraries in all elementary schools in the Cape Coast district 2. To establish an annual high school scholarship program for 20 students from low income families
In past five years, the Oguaa Akoto association has worked with the elementary school sector in Cape Coast and neighboring areas to improve the reading skills and habits of the elementary school pupils. Oguaa Akoto association has instituted Reading, Essay and Spelling Bee competitions for the schools that have the portable libraries. The association believes developing good reading skills and habits will go a long way to ensure improvement in other subject areas. The association so far has completed furnishing 22 elementary schools with portable libraries. The association is currently inundated with requests from other schools, hence request for your monetary contribution and support.
