Asian American solidarity to raise funds for #CancelRent
I am learning to be an anti-racist Asian American.
For me this involves first activating my community to leverage our resources and organize our thoughts and actions to connect with Asian Americans across class, ability, and age. Then finding solidarity with Black and Indigenous people around shared issues.
My hope is to use my skills as a facilitator of Parcon Resilience to support a collective dialogue about cancelling rent, problems with increasing xenophobia and cross class solidarity with Asian Americans in my orbit.
AND to activate everyone else in my sphere to lift up Asian American collective anti-racist consciousness by DONATING!
Your donations will go to the Committe Against Anti-Asian Violence (CAAAV) for their #Cancelrent campaign for working class Asian Americans in NYC. They are offerring emergency aid (food, medicine, & legal support) for those in need, language justice and to build power behind a rent strike through block and building organizing.
#CancelRent is part of a bigger movement with other orgs to take on real estate, big landlords, and Governor Cuomo. Their goal is to raise $30,000 by May 20th. Let's help them!
