Dream Street is a week long summer camp serving kids ages 4 - 17 with chronic and life-threatening illnesses. Dream Street is a camp that focuses on fun and acceptance. These kids are able to play and act like kids instead of patients. With their medical conditions, many of these kids would not be able to attend a typical summer camp. Dream Street is staffed by volunteer counselors, doctors, and nurses to make this special week a reality. This will be my 10th summer volunteering as a nurse and it will be Ben's first summer as a counselor. Dream Street is my little ray of sunshine each and every year.
This summer will be our 30th year of camp! While many things have changed in 30 years, most things about Dream Street have stayed the same. We are still a tiny orgnanization that runs on the generosity of our community. This campaign alone pays for many of the activities we bring to camp every year, including the WORLD FAMOUS (okay fine, camper famous) Carnival on the last day of camp. It's a day to remember with rides, games, and TONS of prizes. But the only reason we were able to bring Carnival back to camp (after quite a long hiatus) is because of your generous donations. Please help us reach our fundraising goal so we can keep Carnival around for years to come.
