We are students at Saint Joseph's University who are supporting and advocating for campers at Camp Mariposa. This camp is free of charge for all attendees and target children who fall victim to their loved ones experiencing substance use disorder. It provides a space where youth can speak about their experiences with substance use disorder in a safe space and make meaningful, trustworthy connections to one another and staff. Camp Mariposa takes the facts such as how, everyday 21,000 youth try drugs or alcohol everyday for the first time, and use that as a base to prevent them to falling victim to this disease. They provide resources and connections for the adolescents in order to break the cycle of addiction. https://moyerfoundation.org/camps-programs/camp-mariposa/
