Thank you for visiting my fundraising page for Camp Kesem! I am so excited to represent this amazing organization as I run the 5K at the Ascension Seton Austin Marathon. Camp Kesem is a student-run organization that supports children impacted by a parent’s cancer this summer. There are about 5 million children in the United States who have been affected by a parent’s cancer, and I had the opportunity to meet one of them when I volunteered at camp for the first time last summer. It was her first year at camp too, and I could tell she was pretty nervous and shy. We did a bunch of really fun activities and team-building events, but I had no idea if any of the Kesem magic had rubbed off on her. However, on the very last day of camp, as we were eating breakfast, she got up and started to sing one of the camp mealtime songs as loud as she could. The whole cafeteria exploded with applause and I was practically beaming with pride and joy. As she was leaving, she gave me a hug and said, " See you next year".
Help send even more amazing campers like her to camp by donating to my fundraising page! Thank you so much for reading this and have a great day!
