Camp Good Mourning! is a Long Island-based 501c3 nonprofit organization that provides FREE, overnight, weekend bereavement camp programs for children, ages 7-17, who are coping with the loss of a parent/guardian, and/or sibling.
Camp Good Mourning! supports, educates, and empowers grieving Long Island children in a traditional summer camp setting with the ability to connect with other kids who have also experienced the death of a parent and/or sibling.
Camp Good Mourning! give children and tens the opportunity to:
1. Share their grief story . . . perhaps for the very first time
2. Identify and explore their feelings
3. Learn about healthy and unhealthy coping skills
4. Learn how to stay connected to their loved ones AND to their new camp friends long after camp is over
Camp Good Mourning! takes place Sunday, April 30th - Sunday, May 2nd at Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck in Center Moriches, Long Island. Camp PQT is owned and operated by the Center Moriches Rotary, a chapter of an International organization whose motto is "Service Above Self."
