Cambodia Town is considered home for many of our community members who grew up in Long Beach and has the largest population of Cambodian residents in the nation. Businesses and organizations along the Anaheim Street reflect the resilience of our community who came here as refugees and immigrants.
While we are saddened by the vandalism that happened on Sunday, May 31, we are grateful for the great outpouring of community support to rebuild. It is with that spirit of support and love that we also stand in solidarity with our Black brothers and sisters. We are heartbroken by the killings of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Ahmaud Arbery.
As we rebuild Cambodia Town, we hope to build a world where Black lives matter and where everyone, including the diverse community in Cambodia Town, are valued and invested in by the City of Long Beach.
All funds will be allocated directly to businesses and UCC will leverage other funds to multiply the resources. Donations will be tax deductible.
