We are a team of six elementary students that are a part of team Gen R that participates in FLL to work together to build robots that solve a set of missions.
We took part in the Qualifier on Nov 10th 2018, where 16 teams were enrolled. We learned that two of the teams were not able to make it as they are from Butte County, California where the "Campfires" have been raging. We would like to help in any way we can and are running this campaign to raise money for the California Wildfire victims.
The Camp Fire — is already the deadliest wildfire in state history. Cal Fire said the Camp Fire has so far consumed 130,000 acres and destroyed more than 8,000 buildings as of Tuesday night. The fire is about 35% contained, and officials do not expect it to be fully contained until November 30, 2018. Southern California is also facing multiple wildfires, and new blazes have continued to break out near populated areas. The Woolsey Fire, which is burning 97,620 acres northwest of Los Angeles and has claimed two lives, was 47% contained as of Wednesday morning. The Hill Fire in Ventura County has burned 4,531 acres, but was 94% contained.
Please help those affected in any way you can!.
