THANK YOU! Blown away by everyone's generosity. Let's keep the momentum going and collect above and beyond my original goal!!!
In 2009 my aunt passed away suddenly leaving behind my two baby boy cousins. My family found so much love and support from the COPE (Connecting Our Paths Eternally) Foundation, a non-profit grief and healing organization dedicated to helping parents and families living with the loss of a child.
A few years ago, COPE partnered with The Moyer Foundation – an organization created by former Major League Baseball player Jamie Moyer and his wife Karen to help children in distress – to offer Camp Erin NYC, a free weekend bereavement camp for children and teens ages 6-17 who are grieving the death of loved ones.
Feeling connected to the cause, my parents have both volunteered at this very special weekend the first summer it was run. My father continues to volunteer each summer.
Camp Erin NYC makes a profound difference in the lives of grieving children by increasing levels of hope, enhancing their self-esteem and providing positive coping skills. Click here to learn more about Camp Erin NYC.
I am choosing to support Camp Erin NYC for my Mitzvah project. Please consider making a donation to this amazing organization and know that whatever you can give would be greatly appreciated.
How your donation helps (per camper):
$10 - Performing Arts
$19 - Supplies
$24 - Comfort Items
$32 - Transportation
$97 - Food/Lodging
$500 - Camper Weeked of Healing
To donate, please use the link below and indicate that your contribution is in honor of “Cailey Sharp's Bat Mitzvah.”
Additionally, I will be making healing rocks for each of the campers attending Camp Erin NYC this summer. I will be using paint pens to decorate and write positive statements on rocks to be given to the campers. The campers can bring the rocks home with them and keep as a reminder that they are not alone.
