On (a more than likely cool) November 2 morning in 2019, some happy group of us will be running the Pittsburgh 10 Miler. We're hopeful many will join us, whether in spirit or in person. We are doing this for a few reason I suppose: One - we enjoy being active, and want to take the opportunity to promote physical activity by hopefully encouraging a few others to join us. Two - the 10 Miler seems like a fun race! And three - we are hoping to raise a little money in the process for the C4H project.
If running isn't your thing or you won't be in town but you would like to support C4H, you can always do that too. Join us as a Virtual Runner! You can also choose one of the other ways to get involved by joining one of these teams!
Virtual Runner : I'll be there in spirit but am unable to run. Happy to contribute to C4H
Support Runner : Registered to run, unable to fundraise for C4H, but happy to wear yellow to show my support
Strong Runner : Registered to run, pledges to raise $50 for C4H, happy to wear a C4H t shirt on race day
Elite Runner : Registered to run, pledges to raise $150 for C4H, happy to wear a C4H t shirt on race day

A Little About C4H
Connections4Health (C4H), a program of the Southwest PA Area Health Education Center, is one of the ways we work towards bridging community and academic resources to meet the health needs of underserved populations. It is designed to partner with community health centers, free clinics, and community-focused organizations to address the broader, unmet social health needs of their patients or patrons, such as food security, housing and employment. Rooted in a person-centered philosophy, C4H recruits, trains, and mentors college student volunteers (Community Health Fellows) to work collaboratively with people, helping them bridge the gaps that exist between basic needs and health through referrals to relevant social agencies and following-up on a weekly basis by phone until the persons' needs are met to their satisfaction.
