The C-60 Goodtime Gal has been a fixture at the Houston Wing for several years. During a recent routine FAA inspection, it was discovered that the previous operator (not CAF) had done work on the airplane without the proper documentation. Unfortunately, that has resulted in a two and a half-year grounding while the entire paratroop interior was rebuilt to factory standards, along with a propeller and carburetor overhaul. The prop and carb have been completed and most of the paperwork has been corrected. However, the airplane’s avionics equipment no longer meets the needs of a traveling airplane and needs significant upgrading to meet ADS-B compliance standard.
