Greetings, Relatives! We are looking to start a reading circle for our Native youth in elementary school. We are hoping for some community support so that we may supply books to our youth that they will be able to keep! The first book they will be reading is Fry Bread: A Native American Family Story, by Kevin Noble Maillard. We are hoping to support independent bookstores, so each book will cost us $18.99 before taxes from Birchbark Books, an Indigenous-owned bookstore!
Can you buy a book for one of our Native kids to read stories that represent them and their rich culture? By empowering them in this way, you are helping them start their own libraries and supporting their cultural resilience! Not to mention, you are supporting an Indigenous nonprofit, Indigenous author, AND Indigenous-owned bookstore. Thank you for any and all contributions, every amount and every share helps!
