We need your support Papillion! The Papillion 150 committee is currently raising funds for the construction of its Butterfly & Pollinator Garden project.
The Papillion 150 Butterfly & Pollinator Garden is a project to construct a 50’ by 60’ butterfly-shaped garden on the north side of Veterans Park, filled with perennial plants to attract those threatened and endangered species.
In commemorating Papillion's 150th anniversary, this project celebrates and protects our community’s namesake — the butterfly. This garden would provide not only a habitat, but a living classroom where the community can enjoy and learn about butterflies. The garden has been professionally designed by the same landscape architects at VIREO who designed Veterans Park several years ago. The garden will become a permanent feature that complements and enhances the serene and reflective nature of Veterans Park. The garden will also feature a 16’ tall monarch butterfly sculpture by renowned Omaha artist Matthew Placzek.
This GoFundMe campaign is an opportunity for community members to support and be a part of the project at whatever level is right for them. This campaign aims to raise a portion of the Papillion 150 committee's overall goal of $25,000 for the project, which is also supported by grants and several generous lead gifts.
