Timmy Global Health is an international nonprofit that works to build a healthier world through a community of global leaders. They are community centered, impact driven, and place global and local empowerment at the forefront of their mission. Through their continuity of care model, Timmy Global health works within the same communities for extended periods of time in partnership with local organizations to monitor, assess, and meet the needs of those communities and patients.
Our Butler University chapter works in Quetzaltenango (Xela), Guatemala in partnership with the local organization 32 Volcanes. Each May we send a "brigade" of students and healthcare professionals to run a clinic in different communities in the area. We provide primary and chronic care to hundreds of patients. Throughout the rest of the year, our continuity of care model ensures that our patients receive the care they need through our local partner, 32 Volcanes.
Our goal as a chapter throughout the year is to fundraise, serve, and advocate in order to promote equal access to quality healthcare both locally here in Indianapolis and abroad at our partner site in Xela, Guatemala.
