Between a backyard in Bushwick and a bungalow on the beach, we've identified 10 intact, non-eartipped adults and 3 kittens under 8 weeks of age. The goal is to TNR the adults and to foster the kittens until they find adoptive homes.
With spay/neuter appointments scheduled at the ASPCA on the 7th, 21st & 23rd of August, and more appointments in September, we've got all fingers crossed that these will be seamless projects.
Thankfully, all adults appear to be healthy, so medical expenditures for them are expected to be minimal (s/n, rabies, FVRCP, and flea treatment). The kittens are always costlier, as they require much more vetting along the road to adoption. And then we have to expect the unexpected: more cats than we counted, more kittens, latent URIs or ringworm, etc.
At the private, rescue-friendly clinic we use, $10 gets a booster shot or a rabies vaccine; $15 gets an office exam, a dose of flea treatment, or a bottle of Clavamox; $30 gets a microchip; and $36 gets a snap test for FIV/FeLV. For holding & recovery, as well as for fostering, $15 covers a case of canned food, $25 buys a bag of World's Best cat litter, and $30 gets a bag of our go-to all life stages grain-free dry food.
Please help us reach our funding goal by sponsoring the cost of one of the above items, and please share. Every little bit helps!
