Community, Peace, Power, Love and Grace is a nonprofit organization run by D. Troy Hudson, president; Katherine Carter, treasurer; and Lorraine Tidd, secretary. Winston Tidd and Larry May are board members. The organization was founded in 2011.
Our focus is on providing cultural and educational experiences for our youth and seniors and everyone in between. We’ve run historical tours for young people and sponsored bus trips to places some of our community members would otherwise be unable to visit. We did our 5th African American Historical Tour in 2018 and it was a great experience for the youth, it was a five-day trip to New York, Niagara Falls, Canada, Michigan, Ohio and Pennsylvania. Our travels have also taken us to Philadelphia’s African American Museum, the Columbus Flea Market, the Baltimore Harbor and The Great Black & Wax Museum to name a few.
We’d like to continue our mission but we need your help! The organization received a loan to buy a used charter bus for the community trips and the fundraisers we hold to support our endeavors.
Due to COVID-19, however, we have been unable to hold fundraisers to pay for the trips, maintenance, and insurance for the bus and, unfortunately, donations have not been coming in. Those donations have been very helpful in making the trips affordable for our community families.
If we can get 1,000 people to donate at least $50 each, we can reach our goal, but anything you can give will be appreciated. Every penny counts!
