Many people knew Dominic “Dom” Rossi as a faithful Christian, minister, husband, father, grandfather, and entrepreneur. We had the privilege of knowing him as a part of our church family. With sadness, we learned that Dom passed away on 4/15/2020, after contracting the novel coronavirus during his stay at the hospital.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Dora, son, Kenneth, daughter-in-law, Carla, Granddaughter Abigail (3), Mother-in-law, Dora, and family.
Dominic dedicated his life to serving Jesus through ministry as part of a Christian singing group, as a young man, named The Watchmen. He also preached and was the youth leader with his wife at Trinity Tabernacle in Gravesend. He also served the Lord through his entrepreneurship.
Dominic enlisted and served in the United States Air Force for 4 years, during the Vietnam era, as a Staff Sergeant.
Due to the nature of the current situation, he will be laid to rest on Tuesday without his family present at Calverton National Cemetery. He will have a full military honor service at some future date.
He was a faithful member of ZION NYC in Brooklyn. While at the church, he was known for his encouraging words, humor, and desire to connect with everyone of all ages. Though he battled various illnesses, he never gave up and remained faithful until the end, even ministering to the nurses and doctors treating him.
With the Lord's help he battled septic shock twice and was doing physical rehab for the past few months at a nursing home. He was about 2 weeks away from going home to his family. Today (17th) to be specific.
In the last week, he was taken to the hospital for two life-saving surgeries for infection and bleeding and was recovering. During discharge planning, at some point during the week he was exposed to Covid at the hospital.
In this time of grief and loss, Dora and the family are also faced with extensive expense surrounding his passing. While we cannot remove the burden of grief that the family is experiencing, we can help with the financial strain. This is a chance for us to all pitch in and be extensions of Christ to this family during this time of devastating loss.
Will you stand with me and our church family to offer our love and support to Dora and this family? Please donate today! And even if you cannot donate, would you please share this fundraiser with others who might be able to donate?
*All money raised will be sent to Rossi family
