In 2014, after losing too many family members to cancer, Don just couldn't sit by and watch it happen again, so he ran. What started as a way to clear his head, had actually become his avenue to raising money for cancer research. His first race in 2014 kicked off an annual event. During each run, Don carries with him a paper that has the names of not just his own family members and loved ones affected by cancer but the names of each and every donor and their loved ones also affected by this terrible disease. After 7 races, Don is proud to say that together, we have raised over $21,000 toward research. Without this research, his mom, his sister and so many other family members wouldn't be here with us today enjoying a full and healthy life. Cancer has touched our family so much that for the last 3 years, Don's grandson, Zion, ran that race with Don, carrying that same list. Zion, now at 17 years old, will run that race again carrying that list. You see, on that list are his own loved ones and friends. Cancer has no age limit, no discrimination. It touches everyone in some way or another, at any age, any gender, any ethnic background, any way it can. For Don and Zion, this is not their race...it's OURS. Together, we all run that race with them and cross that finish line as winners! Don and Zion keep their promise with each and every step of that race to carry everyone with them with the same determination as that first run in 2014. This is a call to action, to band together and fight in every way we possibly can. Don't let cancer win. Join us in this fight. Share our cause with your friends and family on social media, through emails, by word of mouth, any way you can. No amount is too small, even $5 can help. We may not have that cure YET, but look how many people are living in remission. Let's make this a reality for everyone. For every survivor, there's a chain of donations behind them. Together, we can make the difference between losing the battle and kicking it's ass. Let's "Finish Stronger Than Ever Before!"
