2021/2022 Scholarship Program - Our 6th Year of making a difference!
As CEO of The Initiative, I believe higher education is a human right, but the reality is that because of systemic impediments Black and Brown students have not had equal access.
At The Initiative, we believe that education is one of the most powerful tools to uplifting a life, a family, a community. That is why our scholarship and mentorship programs exist to help young women get to and through college.
We believe that we are helping to create leaders who will change the world and the seed of that transformation must be planted now.
This fundraiser will cover 15 scholarship applications where each student will receive up to $1,000 at our 1st Virtual Awards Ceremony in September 2021. We are making great progress and we'd love your help to get us the rest of the way so please share the widely.
WHAT IS THE INITIATIVE?
The Beverly L. Smith Empowerment Initiative ("The Initiative") is a Non-Profit Organization that connects young people of color from the inner cities across America to resources both financial and relational in order to prepare and equip them to reach their greatest potential.
Our mission is to ensure that every young woman of color living in an inner city has the opportunity to pursue and fulfill her God-given purpose. I founded The Initiative as a collective of resources and designed it from the vision of my late mom - Pastor Beverly L. Smith (Crafton) who believed that knowledge is priceless and that the responsibility of the informed is to educate the next generation.
Will you join us in TAKING THE INITITIAVE to help these young women as they pursue their dreams of a college education?
You can help give them a shot at unleashing the greatness that lies in each of them. We are now and forever grateful for every level of support, every share and every post.
