We face a pivotal moment in history with our democratic principles and civil rights under full-fledged attack from this administration. As we enter 2020 and a year of crucial elections, we need all of our voices to be heard. Will you help us defend our democracy?
Voter protection is power. In 2016, we ran the largest poll monitoring program in the country to protect access for limited-English speaking voters. The following year, we wrote and passed the California Voting for All Act to further strengthen language access in our elections. In 2020, we’re continuing our work protecting voting rights to ensure our communities have meaningful access to our democratic processes.
Census is power. We’re working to make sure our communities are counted in the 2020 Census. Census participation determines our communities’ federal resources and political representation for the next decade — it’s up to all of us to ensure we get our fair share.
Redistricting is power. District lines drawn after the 2020 Census can empower our communities, but they can also be used to silence them. We’re expanding our redistricting work to protect historically disenfranchised communities in the Bay Area and beyond.
As we build our power, we will continue to be there for our clients . We’re defending Cambodian and Vietnamese refugees from unjust deportations, winning back stolen wages for immigrant workers and protecting them from workplace abuse, fighting to keep elderly tenants in their homes as gentrification sweeps San Francisco, and doing everything in our power to reverse the racist Muslim Ban.
Advancing Justice - Asian Law Caucus is on the frontlines of the fight, but we can’t do it alone.
Will you join us this #GivingTuesday?
