Trivia for a Cause: Buffalo Sports

American Cancer Society is bringing friends and family together with Trivia for a Cause, a one-night Buffalo sports themed event. We know you're missing hanging out with your friends at the game, so grab your friends *virtually*, and join the American Cancer Society and Buffalo Sports Personality Sal Capaccio for Buffalo themed sport trivia!

Sign up for our virtual trivia by making a $10 suggested donation, where 100% of the proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society COVID-19 relief fund. By playing Trivia for a Cause, you'll help us raise much needed funds for ACS - and - if you're the smartest of the smarts - win a Buffalo themed swag bag!

Ready to register? Scroll up (or down) and click 'register'. Enter your information and donation. You will receive a confirmation email.

*Please note* if you are a team captain or a team of one, be sure to check the team captain/single player box on the registration form.

At 4pm the day of the event, team captains and single player teams will receive emailed instructions on how to play. You'll join us by Zoom and then submit answers via Crowdpurr. If playing with a team, we recommend using Microsoft Teams, Google Hangout, etc. to share your screen and discuss your answers before submitting them.

Event will last approximately 60 minutes.

Story

During these unprecedented times, cancer hasn't stopped, so neither will we

We are available 24/7 through our Cancer Helpline (800-227-2345.)  Since March, 80% of calls have been COVID-19 related questions such as:

- Is going to treatment worth the risk of getting infected? Or should I delay chemo?

- My treatment was just postponed. What do I do now?

- I’m a cancer survivor that works in the healthcare field. Is it safe for me to go to work?

Cancer.org/Coronavirus Provides up to date evidence-based information  for patients, survivors and caregivers from our Public Health Experts. We know this need is large as we have seen a 961% increase in clicks over the last month.

In addition, we are proud to share that the American Cancer Society has offered its Hope Lodge facilities across the country to healthcare partners, to provide respite for healthcare workers on the frontlines of the pandemic.

While the need continues to grow, so does the impact on our ability to continue our mission. At this time COVID-19 has forced all our fundraising events to be put on hold creating a devastating funding gap for the ACS and potentially compromising our ability.

Thank you for helping make an impact by participating in this event.

With love,

Your American Cancer Society WNY team
