Ever thought ‘the Buckeye Trail could use a sign here’? We have too. All around the 1,400+ miles of the BT there is a need for wayfinding signage to identify the BT and give hikers confidence that they are indeed on the right track to their destination. Even with the multitude of trail managing partnerships the BTA enjoys, consistent and standardized signage is not necessarily their highest priority. It is finally time for the BTA to develop our own signage program. A generous donor and a BTA volunteer have teamed up to help with the purchase of materials and production of BTA customized signs with a Computer Numerical Control (CNC) router! A process is in development for ‘fulfilling orders’ from BTA Section Supervisors to completely sign the BT over time. The donor is willing to match your contribution 1:1 for the purchase of the state of the art $5,500 CNC router. Let’s not let this opportunity to improve the BT experience and support a willing volunteer slip away!
