We cannot host our annual Breaking the Silence gala this year, our flagship and largest fundraising event. We are currently facing a revenue shortfall of 25% and as a small, community-based organization, this is a big hit. Our annual gala typically raises enough revenue (after expenses) to fund the bulk of our programming.
This year, we hope that without the expenses incurred from the gala, and with your generosity, we can reach our goal. With your support, we can ensure that we can continue offering programs and resources to our teens.
We ask you - our friends, our family, and our community- to help us reach a target fundraising goal of $50,000 through our first (and hopefully last) virtual Breaking the Silence Campaign.
Funds raised through this campaign will help us invest in technology, which allows us to develop virtual programming for our teens. With more virtual options, we are better able to reach these teens wherever they are. Additionally, your donation helps ensure that The SHED can reopen our doors when COVID is no longer a concern.
Promoting Mental Health is more important now than ever before, and we fear that suicides and suicide attempts will be on the rise during this crisis.
The top 20 fundraisers will be invited (with a guest) to a VIP reception at The SHED once it is safe to do so. We will also be entering top fundraisers into a raffle for some pretty sweet prizes!
We hope you will consider supporting our organization in any way you can and share among your friends, family, and community. We need your support now more than ever. Thank you for your time and your generous support. We hope that you are staying safe, healthy, and doing well.
