Bethenny Frankel's #BStrong for the Amazon Initiative is joining our partner, the Global Empowerment Mission, to enact a major mission in response to the fires in the Amazon immediately to aid in this crisis situation. #thisisacrisis
#BStrong teams arrived in Santa Cruz, Bolivia on August 26. Upon arriving, they began to assess the situation to determine the needs on the ground and the means with which aid could be brought in. Then, after some logistical planning, we will work to provide humanitarian and fire fighting aid IMMEDIATELY.
This effort is particularly challenging because chartering fire fighting planes presents unique logistical issues and is extremely expensive to do. Right now, Bolivia is ground zero for this emergency fire situation, so this is where we will stage our team to provide resources, fire fighting, and direct humanitarian aid. Not only are these fires devastating plant and animal life, they are are also harming and displacing millions of people living in the area in already economically disadvantaged situations.
We are situated to provide these services because of our relationships with the people on the ground who have been working in these communities for many years, along with officials in the areas impacted. We have the team, connections, expertise, and experience needed to quickly and responsibly fight these fires and help the people and animals on the ground who are suffering.
Bethenny Frankel's #BStrong program is a disaster relief initiative that provides real time emergency assistance to individuals and their families in crisis. Our mission is to empower people struck with tragedy by providing gift cards, emergency aid, food, and shelter to disaster victims. Since the launch of the BStrong initiative in 2017, we have raised and distributed almost $2 million for gift cards and a little over 10,000 tons of aid sent in over 106 containers, 55 planes, and full sized trucks across disaster stricken areas. We have operated in the United States, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Guatemala, the Caribbean Islands, the African continent, Venezuela, Colombia, and now in the Amazon. Children, families, women, and men whose lives have been upended by catastrophe have found a helping hand and a start at recovery through aid provided by the BStrong programs. All funds donated to BStrong are restricted to the distribution and logistics of purchasing and delivering disaster relief supplies and gift cards to impacted populations. 100% of BStrong donations go directly to helping individuals in disaster affected areas with ZERO administrative or overhead expenses withdrawn. Our partner, the Global Empowerment Mission (GEM) is a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization that provides emergency disaster relief.
